Allow me to introduce to you Benjamin Pierce, a gifted artist born and raised here in St. Louis County. Last night he hosted his solo exhibition, The Leviathan & the Flea, at the Concrete Ocean Art Gallery in South City. Every piece welcomes you into his artistic mind while at the same time, keeping enough distance for the viewer to create his/her own stories and meaning, which in part, and to my opinion allow one to make each painting personally significant. Benjamin merely provides you with “a hint…a small taste” and then sets one free into one’s own artistic mind.
